DIGITALIS 5 : PATTERNS
September 15 - 24, 2005
Video In Studios, 1965 Main Street, Vancouver, B.C.

This exhibition presents digital print images that incorporate pattern to suggest or represent natural ecologies of thought, media or irritation*. Without necessarily defining what patterns subconsciously represent, this exhibiton acknowledges that patterns encapsulate primal and transcendental communications, where shapes and colours are ultimate embodiments of beings or living forms.

*In Understanding Media (1964) Marshall McLuhan wrote: “What we are considering here, however, are the psychic and social consequences of the designs or patterns as they amplify or accelerate existing processes. For the “message” of any medium or technology is the change of scale or pace or pattern that it introduces into human affairs.”
